Welcome to EcoShift Initiative. These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of our website, mobile payment software, USSD services, and smart solar-powered dumping bin system (collectively referred to as the “Services”).

By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our Services.

1. About EcoShift Initiative

EcoShift Initiative is an environmental technology project operating in Rwanda that provides:

A digital waste payment software platform
A USSD-based waste payment system
Smart solar-powered dumping bins
Waste management monitoring and reporting services

Our goal is to promote environmental sustainability through digital innovation and smart waste solutions.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or have consent from a parent/guardian.
You must provide accurate and complete information.
You must comply with all applicable laws of the Republic of Rwanda.

EcoShift reserves the right to refuse service if false information is provided.

3. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining confidentiality of your login credentials.
You agree not to share your account with others.
You are responsible for all activities under your account.

EcoShift is not liable for unauthorized use of your account due to negligence.

4. Payment Terms

EcoShift provides digital waste collection payment services through:

Online payment systems
Mobile money integration
USSD code access

4.1 Payment Responsibility

Users are responsible for ensuring payment details are correct before confirming transactions.

4.2 Transaction Errors

Payment errors must be reported within 48 hours for investigation.

4.3 Refund Policy

Refunds are processed only in cases of verified system error or duplicate payment. Decisions are made at EcoShift’s discretion after investigation.

5. Use of USSD Services

You consent to telecom network charges.
USSD access depends on mobile network availability.
EcoShift is not responsible for network interruptions beyond our control.

6. Smart Solar-Powered Dumping Bins

Users agree:

Not to damage, vandalize, or misuse bins.
Not to dispose of hazardous or prohibited materials.
To use bins only for approved waste categories.

EcoShift reserves the right to report vandalism or misuse under Rwandan law.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

Engage in fraudulent activities
Hack or disrupt our systems
Upload malicious software
Misrepresent your identity

Violation may result in suspension or termination.

8. Data Protection & Privacy

We collect personal information such as:

Name
Phone number
Location
Payment information

This data is used strictly for service delivery, payment processing, waste tracking, and communication.

We comply with applicable Rwandan data protection laws.

9. Intellectual Property

All EcoShift website content, logos, software design, and branding materials are the property of EcoShift Initiative and may not be copied without written permission.

10. Service Availability

We aim to provide uninterrupted service but do not guarantee continuous availability or error-free operation. Services may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance.

11. Limitation of Liability

EcoShift shall not be liable for indirect damages, loss of profits, network failures, or unauthorized access caused by user negligence.

Liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the relevant service.

12. Termination

EcoShift may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Users may discontinue services at any time.

13. Amendments

EcoShift may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of Services means acceptance of revised Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Rwanda. Disputes shall be resolved under Rwandan jurisdiction.
